Bereits seit mehreren Monaten ist offiziell bekannt gegeben worden, dass die ehemalige Geschäftsführerin von Burberry ab 2014 für Apple arbeiten wird.
Seit heute wurde Ahrendts auch in die Apple Executive Website aufgenommen. Wie bereits angenommen, ist Ahrendts offizielle Jobsbezeichnung Senior Vice President Retail and Online Stores.
Nachdem Ahrendts gestern, am 1. Mai 2014 ihren letzten Arbeitstag bei Burberry hinter sich gebracht hat, wurde die Einbindung in Apples Leadership Website wohl als offizieller Arbeitsbeginn inszeniert. In der kurzen Biographie erfährt man auch, was ihre neue Rolle bei Apple genau beinhalten wird.
„Angela Ahrendts is Apple’s senior vice president of retail and online stores, reporting to CEO Tim Cook. Angela is responsible for the operation and expansion of Apple retail and online stores, which have redefined the shopping experience for hundreds of millions of customers around the world. Apple retail stores set the standard for customer service with innovative features like the Genius Bar, personal setup and one-to-one personal training to help customers get the most out of their Apple products.“
Ahrendts wird sich also neben der Expansion Apples in die ganze Welt auch um die Online Stores der Firma kümmern. Die Zeit wird zeigen in welche Länder Ahrendts expandieren wird und ob vielleicht auch endlich Österreich dabei sein wird.
Weiters wird ihre bisherige Laufbahn noch kurz zusammengefasst:
„Angela joined Apple from Burberry, where she served as CEO and led the company through a period of outstanding global growth. Prior to Burberry, she was executive vice president at Liz Claiborne Inc., and earlier in her career she served as president of Donna Karan International. Angela holds a Marketing and Merchandising degree from Ball State University in Indiana, where she was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2010. She is also a member of the UK’s Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council and was named honorary dame commander of the British Empire in April 2014.“
Bereits letzte Woche informierte CEO Tim Cook die Presse, dass Ahrendts diese Woche ihre Arbeit bei Apple aufnehmen wird, legte aber keinen genauen Tag fest. Wie 9to5mac.com unter Bezug auf interne Quellen berichtet arbeitet Ahrendts schon an einer Präsentation für das Retail Team.
Bereits letzten Herbst wurde Ahrendts von Cook via internem Memo den Mitarbeitern präsentiert. Er stellte sie mit den Worten: „best person in the world for this role“ vor.
